Your Dive Experience
General
Dive equipment is included in the cost of all of our certifications and courses and can be added to your Fun Dive Package if you do not have your own. Tanks and Weights will be provided onboard for you and are included in the dive package price already. Light snacks/refreshments and water will be provided on the boat for morning dive packages and courses.
We encourage all of our guests to complete the required liability and medical forms, and email them back to us prior to your bookings. If you are unable to do so, it will be important that you bring your Certification Card and Medical Clearance with you on arrival.
We are happy to offer full rental kits to all of our divers but will always encourage you to bring your own equipment as it is generally the most comfortable option for divers. Bringing a swimsuit, towel and sun protection are also important.
We do have reef-safe sunscreen available for purchase as we strongly encourage divers to only use reef-safe products when diving.
Out-Of-Air (our Dive Boat) is a 23ft Mako Saltwater Centre Console boat retrofitted to accommodate scuba divers. It has a comfortable ladder at the back, provides ample seating and tank holders and enables divers to enter the water by giant stride (off the back platform) or backwards roll.
Both our Dive Centre and Boat will have filled first aid and O2 administration kits. Drinking water will always be available to ensure hydration levels are good and hot water will be brought with on lionfish hunts.
We carry a maximum of 7 divers onboard with up to 3 staff members daily.
We aim to provide 60min bottom times, air permitting. For groups where various levels of air consumption play a restricting role, we will follow the safest protocols necessary. In cases were divers are all in agreement, we prefer to brief the early-out-of-air divers on how to ascend safely to meet the boat so that the remaining divers can max out their bottom times.
Our rental equipment is all in excellent condition and serviced regularly. We offer Mares Jacket-style BCDs, Mares Regulators with first and second stages (including yellow alternate air-source), Mares open-heel (barefoot) fins, Mares masks and wetsuits.
Torches and Mares computers available as Add-Ons to your rental kits
Barbados is surrounded by beautiful, clear, blue waters that vary in temperature year round between 27-29c (80-84f).
90% of our dive sites are found on the outer reef system, making shore diving a very limited option. For this reason, most of our morning 2-tank tours are drift dives and all are done by boat.
Barbados is home to beautiful coral reefs and shipwrecks. You are likely to see a large variety of tropical fish species, Green and Hawksbill sea turtles, Southern stingrays and Eagle rays, as well as various Seahorses and pipefish, crustaceans (shrimp, crabs, lobster etc), mollusks (slugs, snails, etc) and cephalopods (octopus & squid).
While very uncommon in Barbados, sharks, manta rays, whale sharks and humpback whales have been sighted on occasion to the few that are in the right place at the right time (aka - us!)
Sightings are never guaranteed, but the ocean is always full of surprises.
Unfortunately at this time we can not offer Nitrox to our divers. It is something we strive to have available soon.
